To strengthen joint trade and mutual investment between Bulgaria and the State of Utah were the highlights of the meeting of Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov with a delegation from the State of Utah headed by Senator J. Stuart Adams. The delegation included members of doTERRA International and Sterling Foundation. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev and Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov.
Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov stressed the importance of strategic relations with Utah and expressed willingness to expand cooperation in trade, investment and innovation. “We have great respect for the trust you have in Bulgaria and for the jobs that you have created. We are open to investment in the field of Artificial Intelligence and drone production,” the Prime Minister said.
Bulgaria is particularly interested in partnerships in the field of AI and drone technologies, and encourages visits by US trade missions and expects to host a mission to be organized from the State of Utah in 2026.
Senator J. Stuart Adams emphasized the importance of sustainable economic partnership between Bulgaria and Utah. “All challenges – including challenges in key sectors such as power generation, AI and other strategic areas that generate revenue and create jobs – are among our priorities and opportunities for joint sustainable development,” he said. The Senator added that the State of Utah is an example of innovation, entrepreneurship and stable economic growth. “Our strong sectors – such as technologies, power generation, education and sustainable industry – coincide with Bulgaria’s priorities. We believe that cooperation between Bulgaria and Utah can bring real benefits to both with the exchange of expertise, investment and joint projects in key areas,” Senator Adams said further.
The meeting put special focus on the operations of doTERRA International, one of the largest US investors in Bulgaria. The company has invested $ 15 million in Dobrich to create 150 jobs while the Healing Hands Foundation supports young Bulgarians with educational and vocational initiatives. Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov thanked Kirk Jowers, CEO of doTERRA and Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Utah, for his contribution to the development of friendly and economic relations between Bulgaria and the State of Utah.
The meeting reiterated Bulgaria’s commitment to sustainable development of economic relations with the United States and to expansion of partnership in strategic sectors such as technology, innovation and investment.
