Bulgaria continues to support Ukraine’s effort to achieve just and lasting peace. This was stated by Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov at his meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Their discussion is part of a series of bilateral meetings that Prime Minister Jeliazkov held in Tirana where the 6th European Political Community Summit is taking place.
In the view of Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, the achievement of peace is not just a way to stop the war in Ukraine and to restore its territorial integrity. This is an issue related to the security of Europe and the way in which Europe will build its security architecture and its defense capabilities in the new geopolitical context, Mr. Jeliazkov pointed out.
At his talk with President Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Jeliazkov emphasized the importance of strengthening Europe’s military industrial potential as part of the structural guarantees for both Ukraine and the continent of Europe.
Further, the meeting discussed the progress of the negotiations. Ceasefire is one of the needed preconditions for peace negotiations to make clear and just peace both for Ukraine and for the concord of the continent of Europe, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister said firmly. According to Rossen Jeliazkov, any preset preconditions may undermine the fragile hope that exists at the start of these negotiations.
