Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov was welcomed with an official ceremony with military honors at the Council of Ministers headquarters of the Republic of Moldova. The Prime Minister is on an official visit to that country today and tomorrow.
After the official welcoming ceremony, a one-to-one meeting started between Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov and Moldova’s Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The visit of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister underscores the long-standing traditionally close relations between Bulgaria and Moldova, built on shared cultural values and active political dialog.
At the plenary meeting today, the two delegations will discuss matters related to Moldova’s European integration, the Bulgarian community in Moldova, the opportunities for strengthening economic ties and the prospects for the promotion of cooperation in the field of culture and education.
Later, Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, together with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and with the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev will visit the city of Taraclia. There will be a meeting with the Taraclia District Chair Lazar Dermenji and a visit to the branch of the Angel Kanchev University of Rousse in that city. During the visit, an agreement will be signed on the transfer of ownership of the premises of the former Taraclia University to the branch of the University of Rousse.
Tomorrow Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov will hold meetings with the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and with the Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu.
The Prime Minister’s official visit demonstrates the two countries’ desire for an even closer partnership in the fields of economy, education, culture and Moldova’s European prospect.
