Bulgaria is convinced that any peace negotiation process must be based on the principle-abiding position that the destiny of a state shall not be determined in the exclusion of that state from the negotiating table. The statement was made by Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov in his intervention at the second emergency meeting on Ukraine, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.
At the same time, Bulgaria firmly believes that Europe is a natural ally of the United States and as such it is a must that it be an equal player in the diplomatic efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister stressed further.
In addition, Rossen Jeliazkov said that the EU must stay united and predictable in its overall support for Ukraine. Also, the Prime Minister recalled that Bulgaria is consistently involved in the joint international efforts in support for Ukraine by the provision of all-out assistance with political, military, economic, financial, humanitarian and diplomatic aspects. So far, to the extent its capabilities allow, Bulgaria has provided ten packages of military-technical assistance that conforms with the needs of Ukraine.
