Competitiveness is the top priority in the stabilization of the Bulgarian and European economies. This was stated by Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov when he met with Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation.

One of the European supercomputers, which is located in Bulgaria and the Institute of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT), were cited as examples of good practices.
Mrs. Zaharieva emphasized the need for Bulgarian companies, scientists and universities to be even more active and noted that Bulgaria has received EUR 158 million under the Horizon Europe funding program. In her view, to boost the economic growth and prosperity of Bulgaria and Europe, heavy investments are needed in innovative solutions in areas such as digital technologies, energy, mobility and other.
Bulgaria’s accession to the Eurozone is a key priority of the new regular government, on which we work hard and in close coordination with our partners from the European Commission, the Prime Minister said. To that effect, from the very first day in office of this cabinet, the Ministry of Finance team undertook a detailed analysis of the state of public finance, on the basis of which the new national budget would be drawn up. On the premise of these actions, Bulgaria will immediately approach the European Commission with a request for an extraordinary convergence report about the country’s fitness to accede to the Eurozone.
