We are working to speed up the agreement on and the disbursement of funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) and under EU operational programs. We will make efforts for fiscal stability and fast availability of European funding to citizens and businesses. The statement was made by Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov at his meeting with Iliana Ivanova, the Bulgarian Member of the European Court of Auditors (ECA). He and she talked within the framework of the Bulgarian Prime Minister’s visit to Strasbourg.
Better financial management of the European budget and the challenges facing the future Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) were also a focus at the meeting. Iliana Ivanova emphasized that Bulgaria is one of the few countries without errors in the implementation of last year’s European budget for agriculture. Performance on this target makes Bulgaria an example of efficient absorption of European funds.
Preparations are under way for an official visit to the country in the coming months of the Bulgarian Member of the European Court of Auditors Iliana Ivanova.
