Prime Minister Andrey Gurov attended a videoconference of the leaders from the Coalition of the Willing. This is the first attendance of the new Bulgarian Prime Minister in this format that was hosted today by Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and Emmanuel Macron, President of France.
Prime Minister Andrey Gurov reiterated the Bulgarian Government’s firm position on consistent and strong support for Ukraine. He stressed the need for stable and long-term security guarantees. In the understanding of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, the European Union’s contribution should be well coordinated with the trans-Atlantic partners so as to ensure a lasting and just peace that is based on international law and protection of Ukraine’s sovereignty.
The participants in the videoconference voiced their firm and joint support for Ukraine. Special emphasis was placed on the support for rebuilding and strengthening Ukraine’s infrastructure which is in a grave condition after the attacks.
The meeting marked the fourth year of Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In recognition, today at 7:00 PM, part of the Council of Ministers building will be symbolically lighted in the colors of the Ukrainian flag to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
