I have no concerns about the agreement with Ukraine. The reason I seek coordination with the National Assembly is the 10-year period of validity of the document. I wonder that a conclusion should be maintained that this is done to torpedo the negotiations for the election of a government. I am the most eager individual who wants a regular government. This is what Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said to journalists in Brussels. The Prime Minister expressed his hope that the Members of Parliament would state a position on the agreement with Ukraine so that he could proceed to sign it.
The Prime Minister said firmly that the European Union should demonstrate unity on Ukraine and that the Bulgarian stance remains unchanged. Assistance will be provided for as long as necessary and will be all-inclusive in order to achieve just and lasting peace that will ensure the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine and all that is entrenched in the UN Charter and international law, Dimitar Glavchev said further.
In his answer to a media, the Prime Minister said that the enforcement of controls along the border with Greece is not a question to deal with. There is a set of procedures that must be started one after another, and as you can see, no such procedure has been started, Mr. Glavchev pointed out.
Concerning the issue of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Prime Minister confirmed that Bulgaria’s position remains unchanged. In the understanding of the Prime Minister, the Republic of North Macedonia should tone down its speech. Let us start with the polite European manner of speaking that should exist between an EU member state and a candidate for EU membership, Dimitar Glavchev said.
