Prime Minister Stefan Yanev hosted an official dinner in honor of the President of the Portuguese Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The two leaders discussed issues pertinent to bilateral relations and relevant European agenda matters.
Bulgaria’s Prime Minister shared with President de Sousa the willingness to promote dialog and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, both bilaterally and within the EU and NATO.
Prime Minister Stefan Yanev emphasized the active contacts between the two countries during the current Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Prime Minister highlighted the outcome of the Portuguese Presidency’s set priorities.
The talk also focused on issues concerning the key importance of political leadership, the problems and challenges facing the democratic systems, the prospects for the EU, the position and the role of national interests in the modern context.
